This is Pollock Catherine Ingram Peter Arkle 9781780673462 Books Reviews

  • Loved it!!
  • Nice format.
  • Perfect addition to my
    Library. Arrived in ideal condition.
  • Condensed and approachable, I thoroughly enjoyed this illustrated look at Pollock's life and work. At 80 pages, it reads more like an in-depth magazine profile, rather than a meaty biography. It gave me just enough information to pique my curiosity to learn more. The illustrations are charming, and they definitely added to my experience. It only seems fitting to use art to interpret an artist's life.
  • Succinct, thoughtful profile of the artist who put abstract expressionism on the map. The author, Catherine Ingram, covers the highs, lows and turning points in the artist's all-too-short life, along with insightful analysis of his major works. All in all, a highly readable account of "Jack the Dripper." Illustrations are fun, too.
  • This beautifully presented book takes a fun, accessible approach to helping readers get to grips with the life and work of Jackson Pollock - I find it to be a very engaging read, and am really looking forward to checking out the others in the series!
  • This book, and the entire series, is more like a comic book than an art book. It is think on text, thin on reproductions of the artist's work and thick on garish images. Thus, none of them are recommended for adults.
